Tim J. Ashlock was born and raised in Gideon, Missouri. He enjoyed his childhood years going to school and working on the Wallace farm located just south of Gideon. While in high school he participated in art and basketball. Upon graduation from GHS he continued his education with classes at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.
Shortly thereafter, he moved to Kansas City, Missouri, and started working at a sign company that was owned by Wayne and Phyllis Barham, his sister. After thirteen years of learning the trade in the sign industry he opened his own company, Ashlock Signs, in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Since 1991 Tim’s successful company has reputation in nearly 35 states in the nation.
“The principles of art that I learned from my teachers provided a strong foundation that helped me in my profession of sign work,” Tim said.
His desire is to rekindle his love for sketching and painting with oils, acrylics and watercolors. He is excited to start down the road of creativity with those mediums again.
